Our Mission
I created
StockBlade.com originally to provide my market commentary to friends so i wouldn’t have to email them every day. Then other people began to read and now I feel an obligation to continue it and combat the nonsensical advice that the “average Joe” gets from TV, etc.
I try and provide a different perspective than what any other site will provide - a traders perspective. My opinions are based upon what I believe the traders will “likely” do. Keep in mind, I am NOT a professiionally trained trader. I studied 10 hours a day for nearly a year (in addition to average Joe trading) to try and figure out what was going on and why. I know, that sounds a bit carried away, but I was tired of getting crushed and couldn’t figure out why and was very determined.
I do this site for almost free to try and help people and give them another perspective on the markets. People think that you are making huge money because you have a website. Trust me, I could make more money mowing yards than from this site. That is not the purpose. Every time I want to shut the site down because it’s too much work, I see something else on TV and go…ughhhh. I need to post before some guy gets crushed.
This site is for the guy that called in to Cramer and said he just bought AEM on Cramer’s advice at the all time high and the next day plunged and he was concerned. Cramer’s response was his raging bull and to “buy more”. I knew the trade was short and cringed when Cramer told this poor guy that. He could be some guy with 4 kids trying to scrape by and Cramer has him long against a trade that I knew the traders were going to short into oblivion. Ugh. I was literally saying to the TV, “NO, NO, NO, the trade is short here, NOT long!!. I wanted to grab the phone out of Cramer’s hands and help the poor guy out. If he bought more as he was told, he got crushed.
I actually think Cramer tries to help people, as contrary as that may sound. The problem is he has so many listeners he has to make long term “macro” view calls. If he is wrong, his listeners get slaughtered. Perhaps he is far smarter than I, but I just do not believe people can see into the future and say “gold is going to $1800″ or whatever. Maybe it will, maybe it won’t. I have no idea and quite frankly do not care. But if have no interest in guessing on it.
I am not here to tell people what to do and to follow along like sheep, as many people unfortunately do with other sites and the talking head shows. Everyone invested in the markets should do their OWN research, their OWN evaluations and make their OWN decisions based on their OWN risk tolerance and understanding of the market. We are here to simply provide some insight on what we believe traders may do, and give readers another perspective from what they likely normally hear.
